Top 6 Samsung Phones with Corning Gorilla Glass
1.) Samsung Galaxy S22 Series
Samsung S22 series or family has three devices under it. They are Samsung S22, S22 Ultra, and S22 Plus. S22 and S22 Plus are similar in a lot of ways while the S22 Ultra is uniquely different.
These three devices have Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ protecting both their Dynamic AMOLED display and their back. They also all have an Aluminum frame.
Samsung S22 series also has IP68 ratings which means they are all dust and water-resistant up to 1.5 meters and for up to about 30 minutes. It is advisable to not stay that long or go that deep though.
They are also all powered by the same 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor with Adreno 730 GPU. They all also recently received One UI 5 based on Android 13.
2.) Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus and S21 Ultra
There are four devices under the S21 series. They are Samsung S21, S21 FE, S21 Plus, and S21 Ultra. They all have Gorilla Glass protection either on their display or on both the display and at the back.
Samsung S21 Plus and S21 Ultra have Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protecting both their AMOLED display and their back. However, only the display of the S21 and S21 FE have this protection and their back are made out of plastic material.
They also all have IP68 ratings, meaning they are dust and water-resistant up to 1.5 meters deep and for up to 30 minutes. Powering these devices is Qualcomm’s 5nm Snapdragon 888 5G Chipset which has Adreno 660 GPU on board.
3.) Samsung Galaxy A73 5G
Samsung A73 5G’s Super AMOLED Plus display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. Its back and frame are both made out of a plastic material.
With an IP67 certification, it means this device is dust and water-resistant up to 1 meter for about 30 minutes. I will advise that you do not go that deep or stay that long underwater.
The Galaxy A73 5G is powered by Qualcomm’s 6nm Snapdragon 778G 5G processor with Adreno 642L handling all tasks that are tasking intensive such as gaming.
4.) Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G
On the Super AMOLED display of Samsung A52s 5G is Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 while the rest of the device from frame to the back is plastic.
Samsung A52s 5G can survive under water of up to 1 meter deep for about 30 minutes. Thanks to IP67 ratings which means it is dust and water-resistant to some extent.
It is powered by Qualcomm’s 6nm Snapdragon 778G 5G and its GPU is Adreno 642L.
5.) Samsung Galaxy A53 5G
The Super AMOLED display of Samsung A53 5G is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The frame and the back of this device is made out of plastic material.
A53 5G is available in Black, Blue, White, and Peach. It is IP67 certified which means it is dust and water-resistant up to 1 meter deep and for about 30 minutes.
It is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 1280 Chipset with Mali-G68 GPU handling graphics-intensive tasks.
6.) Samsung Galaxy A13
Even though Samsung A13 is a budget device, it has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protecting its display which is great. Its back and frame are however made out of plastic material.
It is powered by an 8nm Exynos 850 processor with Mali-G52 GPU. It currently runs on Android 12 but will soon receive Android 13 update with One UI 5 flavor.
Having gorilla glass doesn’t mean that your device won’t shatter when dropped or won’t scratch when it comes in contact with sharp objects.
It means it will take it falling from a higher altitude or in frequent contact with sharp objects for that to happen.
You can always go for an additional layer of protection such as a case and tempered glass. But nothing will ever be like the careful handling of your device.
As you must have noticed, only their flagship phones have gorilla glass protection on both the front and back. This is not true for other manufacturers such as Xiaomi. I will like to see front and back protection on their mid-range phones too.
