What is an AMOLED Display?
AMOLED is superior to every other display in the market when it comes to quality. It has a faster screen refresh rate making it smoother, superior picture and video quality, excellent and wide viewing angles, and high contrast ratio. Here is a list of all Samsung phones with a 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rate.
It is a light and thinner panel than every other one on the market and it consumes less power.
But it also has its own disadvantages. It is expensive and has a short life span.
Super AMOLED is the version of the display used on Samsung phones. It is simply an AMOLED display with a capacitive touchscreen or touch-sensitive layer integrated into the display.
On a normal AMOLED display, the touch screen is another layer on its own, placed on top of the display. This makes Super AMOLED even thinner.
Samsung has been using Dynamic AMOLED on their flagship phones for a couple of years now. Dynamic AMOLED is basically a Super AMOLED with HDR10+ support with better color and contrast. It also has a reduced blue light emission which is good for the eyes.
