Between Samsung Phones and FM Radio
I said earlier that you do not need internet or WiFi to listen to Radio with a smartphone that comes with this feature. The question is how do you now listen to Radio on these devices?
Just plug in your antenna, which is usually an earphone plugged into your 3.5mm headphone jack, and you are good to go. The next thing to do is just to launch the Radio App and tune in to your favorite station.
Some of these phones even have antenna built-in to them, meaning you don’t even need an earphone or a 3.5mm headphone jack which not all Samsung phones have these days.
For a long time, most Galaxy phones on the A series that come with FM radio were available for use everywhere in the world. Sadly, when it comes to their flagships, only the units sold in the US and sometimes in Canada can use the FM radio.
Yes, the feature is market-dependent, sometimes service provider dependent and sometimes it is processor-dependent; in the sense that only the units that have the snapdragon processor have FM radio. These are mostly the ones sold in the US and China.
These days, most of their phones do not come with this feature at all.
As you can see from the above list, some phones in a particular family don’t have FM radio while others do.
I am talking about the likes of Samsung A52s 5G that doesn’t have while the A52 and A52 5G does.
Similarly, Samsung S20 FE doesn’t have FM radio while the S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra do.
Also, the S9 family, Note 8 family, and S10 family have it, but the Note 9 doesn’t.
