Does Samsung Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra Have an SD Card Slot?
No, the Samsung S23 family which comprises the Galaxy S23, S23 Ultra, and S23 Plus does not have an SD card slot and by extension can’t use expandable storage.
Samsung has not released a flagship phone with an SD card slot for years now and there is no indication that the company will look back on this particular decision.
One thing you need to understand is that SD card or expandable storage is not as fast as the internal storage and can hinder the performance of the entire phone when the task you are performing is SD card related.
Samsung also seems to be moving away from 128GB as their base storage model because only the S23 has a 128GB internal storage model and it is a UFS 3.1 storage same as the S22.
Alongside that, the S23 also has 256GB and 512GB internal storage options which are UFS 4.0 which is 2 times faster than the UFS 3.1 in read and write.
Samsung S23 Plus is available in 256GB and 512GB internal storage which are UFS 4.0. The S23 Ultra is also available in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB internal storage options all of which are also UFS 4.0.
As you can see, there is a trend here. Samsung is clearly moving away from 128GB base storage and it is a good thing because if they will not be shipping their flagship phones with an SD card slot, they should make higher internal storage available and also make the base storage one that an average user can easily run out of.
So, in conclusion, the S23 series does not have an SD card slot, they have different storage options to choose from including higher ones such as 512GB and 1TB.
Even the S23’s 128GB option is a slow one and I believe that is on purpose to make it unworthy for people to go for.
